Why did Reagan remove the solar panels from the White House as soon as he took office?
During the oil embargo of the '70s, Carter had solar panels installed in White House. When Reagan took office, in addition to the elimination of approximately 90% of tax credits Solar Energy Research (in effect, raise taxes in this work), solar panels had dropped and sent to a warehouse. The cost of solar energy is mainly in the production and installation - after that it is free energy. Removing the existing panels makes no economic sense, no matter what the price of oil. Ronald Reagan had actually govt. pay extra to avoid reducing the electricity bill of the White House.
